Kalyra's new Black Muscat wine (Moscato Nero) is a blend of the wines from 2007 and 2008 vintages from Madera County in the heart of California’s Central Valley. The wine has been aged in the Solero style, which is quite common practice in some regions, particularly in Australia. This Muscat dessert wine actually does have the credentials to compete with some of the best Australian wine brands. Rich in raspberry, boysenberry, and strawberry flavors, this classic fortified wine (15.5% alcohol) is a real winner. This California blend is best paired with contrasting flavors like French Vanilla Bean ice cream or crème brulée.
