2009 Pinot Bianco

Varietal: White Wines

This is a first from the talented hands of winemaker Mike Brown. Pinot Bianco is a varietal that has its origins in the Loire Valley of central France and first appeared in California in the late 1950's. If you are looking for a dry white wine, there are few others that can compare to a Pinot Bianco. The fruit for this wine was sourced from the 20 year old vines of Curtis Vineyard near Foxen Canyon Road, where cooler growing conditions have lead to the perfect dry Gewurztraminer. The juice for this fine California white wine was fermented in stainless steel and given no oak aging at all. The wine shows off nice acidity, which is typical of cool climate growing conditions, and the nose exhibits some light aromatic floral tones and flavors of bright citrus fruits with a hint of honey.

This is not only a good white wine in the general sense but it is especially recommended as a fragrant white wine with a complexity that will captivate one's experience completely. A crisp, lively wine, it is perfect to pair with light salads, grilled fish, and fresh lobster. It may be one of the best white wine brands Santa Ynez Valley has to offer.
